I had the privilege of meeting Micheal and hearing parts of his life story at an event we both attended. I was immediately interested in reading his book when I found out about it. The day it arrived, I didn’t put it down. It was fascinating to me to learn about a part of our history I had never been made aware of. His personal story was very interesting and hearing how he’s overcome so much as a young child was inspirational. The material he includes in the appendix is great for someone like me who had no idea this had ever happened. This is a great read!Product details

I dont ordinarily like books like this, but my husband and i listened to the CD and were absolute spellbound from beginning to end. I highly recommend this book to anyone who tries to blame enviornment for their lack of achievement. Thank you Michael for having the courage to share your life.
This incredibly moving story filled me with emotion. I had no idea that this had taken place in Ireland and that the Catholic Church maintained this practice for decades. We cannot bring back families that were torn apart but this can I think, help heal those who have been traumatized. I am grateful that I have been made aware of this historical event. Let's hope that those who were affected by this treatment can go on and lead productive lives despite the treatment that they received as children. I was mesmerized by this story.
This was a sensitive and sincere treatment of what it was like to be raised in a "Mother-Baby" home in Ireland, and (luckily) to be adopted by an American family – to come and live the Dream.
The research was excellent and the heart warming truth is evident. Came to tears several times. People need to hear the truth. This is definitely a human rights issue and the world needs to know. Children who are abandoned as infants definitely struggle and Michael gave some interesting insights to his struggles.
This was a very interesting and factual account of what went on in Ireland. I totally enjoyed it and I'm getting it for a dear friend who grew up in a convent with mean nuns.
